Grace to Build a New Dorm

“Where am I going to be living at Grace College next year as an upperclassman?” That is a question heard all the time throughout the year here, but fear no more as Grace has built The Lodge and now they will build another new dorm.
There is going to be a groundbreaking ceremony during Homecoming weekend. The dorm is expected to be done by July, allowing students to move in next year. This dorm will replace our use of Grace Village and some perimeter houses, so the students will be living on campus and can experience the campus life.
This new dorm will be on the corner of Kings Highway and Seventh Street. To better help you to picture this, it is the field where the crosses have been placed. This dorm is going to be a townhouse style with brown stone.
A natural question would be: “Who is going to be able to stay in this dorm and how many people?” While the dorm will definitely have both male and female units, the exact ratio is still unknown. Gender will be determined based on enrollment. Each unit will have four bedrooms with eight beds. It is a “Brownstone” style — a three-story townhouse with porches on the front and back. Grace is trying to add more rooms for the students on campus and also add places where people can hang out. With this new dorm they are accomplishing both goals, as there is going to be a community space outside.

It will also be designed by the Design Collaborative, the same architect firm that designed the Lodge and the OCC (now named the MOCC), so the quality of the work will be good.
With this new dorm being built, Grace is becoming a school with plenty of room for students to enjoy.
