You’ve seen them all over campus. It seems like every student owns at least one. They all mean different things and they are crafted right here in Warsaw. If you don’t own a Mudlove band, you better head on over to TOL right now and get one. While you are at it, make sure you vote for Mudlove to win a chance at having a professionally produced Super Bowl advertisement.

The above statement is correct. Mudlove has been entered into a contest for small businesses sponsored by INTUIT. The grand prize for the small business with the most votes is an INTUIT sponsored commercial that will be played during the Super Bowl. Can you imagine sitting on your couch watching one of the biggest televised sporting events in the world and seeing a commercial for a business that you personally know? Mudlove needs Grace College’s help!

Mudlove employee Paul Dreisbach told the Sounding Board that this was an incredible way to spread the word about Mudlove and how it is growing. “We ship to around 35 countries now,” he said. But the fact that it is gaining momentum does not mean that it will forget its roots and its connections in the area. Dreisbach said that the main store would still be centered in the Winona Lake/Warsaw area, which is most definitely a plus for Grace College students, as he hinted at a possible surprise for students if Mudlove wins this contest.

As a worthy contender for the great honor of a Super Bowl commercial, Mudlove must have votes in order to win. The way to do that is to check out either the Mudlove Facebook page or the Sounding Board page (gcsbnews.com) and follow the link. The contest will only accept one vote per person per day, so tell as many people as possible about this contest and Mudlove’s chances of winning.

Dreisbach stated that, as he was reading through some of the other businesses, there were “some grandma’s making quilts” and jokingly said not to vote for them.

Use your laptops and smart phones to vote for Mudlove. Voting for round one closes on September 23rd. Do not be discouraged about this, though, because the whole contest is not over until December. In order to make it to round two, Mudlove needs as many votes as possible.

Dreisbach and the other Mudlove employees are always interested in hearing why certain words were chosen and what they mean to each person. So spread the word and spread your stories about your Mudlove bands.
