The Grace College women’s basketball team had their first scrimmage of the season on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, against Lake Michigan College. The Lady Lancers started their year off right with a 64-58 win over the Red Hawks.

The Grace College women’s basketball team is preparing hard to have a successful year ahead of them. Considering the fact that it was the Lady Lancers’ first scrimmage of the year over Fall Break, they played with great excitement on the court.

The win was secured in the third quarter when the Lady Lancers held a six-point advantage over the Red Hawks. During the other quarters, the Lady Lancers always held one or two points of advantage against their opponent. Sophomore transfer Micaela Box had a brilliant night, scoring 13 points with five rebounds.

“I think we had good moments during the game where we rotated well when we were trapped in a half-court setting. Offensively, we are still working on our new offense, so just becoming more familiar with holes that are open within the offense would help us a lot. I think we did a really good job at making hustle plays and making extra passes for open teammates,” said senior guard Kelsie Peterson.

The Lady Lancers will have several upcoming games before their regular season. Do not miss out on their schedule that can be found at
