Student wellness center to host Health Fair
The Health Fair is back for a grand return. On Wednesday, April 11, the Student Health Center will be hosting the Health Fair. The event begins at 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. with drawing lab work at the Student Health Center. This will be open to everyone for a small fee paid in cash or with a check. Grace College employees may receive free labs if they wish to come in. They will also be doing free ankle bone density screenings during this time. If you have any questions or wish to set up an appointment call 574-372-5100 Ext 6472.
The main events of the Health Fair will be at the Gordon Rec Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The events start with free massages from 11 to 3 in the classroom. Then starting at 12 p.m. and continuing to 6 p.m., Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in the Aerobics room.
The events do not stop there though. If you want to check your blood pressure, height and weight, or your body mass index, then you want to come out and join the fun as all these will be found at the Gordon Recreation Center.
Throughout the day, you will be able to wander around the GRC and explore the multiple vendors in the building. The best part is that many of these Vendors will have freebies for you to enjoy. A surprise special event is also planned for the girls to participate in.
There will also be opportunities for you to sign up for door prizes as the events progress through the day. The winners of these prizes will be drawn the next day, and the winners will be reached via email or telephone.
The Health Fair was hosted last year at Grace College as well. Beth Sikora, the nurse at Grace’s Health and Wellness Center said, “I think it went very well last year. We had around 300 people show up which I was very shocked about as it was pretty much a blizzard outside.”
The Health Fair seems to host a wide array of fun and relaxation for anyone who needs a break from work or life. It seems to also be a very successful event when a blizzard cannot even keep people away. As a bonus surprise the first 500 people to the event will receive a free reusable shopping bag. Clear your schedule and come join Grace College Campus for some fun.
