Senate and Red Zone Host Dapper Day

by Lydia Gard

Student Senate and the Red Zone partnered up Wednesday, Sept. 27, to bring some class to the Lancer student section, the Red Zone. Students dressed up and came to support the women’s volleyball team as it played Spring Arbor on Grace’s home court.

The idea of “Dapper Day” was to have students dress up from an era of their choosing. Many wore fancy dresses or professional jackets, while others wore a poodle skirt, a flapper dress, rose-tinted glasses and even a fake beard.

Isaiah Brown, with his bright pink turtleneck, checkered pants and sunglasses won the title of “best dressed” at the game. He won a $100 gift card to the campus book store. Brown is also part of the men’s golf team at Grace.

The volleyball team won the game, winning three out of the four matches played.

The next Red Zone game will be a women’s soccer game on Wednesday, Sept. 4, and the theme will be “RED OUT.” Red Zone shirts for this game will be handed out in chapel.
