SAB Hosts a Cereal Study Break
by McCalah Mast
A line of people stretched out the door of Kent’s lobby on Monday as students waited for their traditional SAB study break snack. “It’s been a hit, so we just keep doing it,” said Ellie Price, SAB Director.
Along the back of Kent lobby, two tables were covered with several different kinds of cereal, a variety of toppings and different types of milk.
Some cereal flavors included Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, Honey Nut Cheerios, Fruity Pebbles and Frosted Flakes. The toppings included mini marshmallows, strawberries, blueberries, bananas and honey.
Students could mix and match cereals, then choose toppings to add. SAB also provided a list of recipes that students could choose from. Recipes included The Buckeye, which consisted of Peanut Butter Crunch and Cocoa puffs, S’mores, which included Golden Grahams, mini marshmallows and Cocoa Puffs, and four others.
When asked why she was at the cereal study break, Kayla Balisteri said, “I’m here because I want a treat that will help get me through the rest of this session. Cereal is a great late night munchie.”
It was clear that many students needed a break as the line extended out the door and even up the stairs to the second floor. The lobby was full of people, cereal, and chatter. Uplifting music could also be heard in the background which added to the mood of the evening. Brooke Smith said she needed a break “because finals are hard, and I need Jesus and cereal.”
Finals week can be stressful, but thankfully SAB always provides students with a treat to help them get through the week. Keep a lookout in the Lancer Lowdown for future SAB sponsored study breaks.
