The Lady Lancers finished second out of seven teams. For the men, Grace finished third out of seven teams. At the third meet, Tara Hamstra was the top runner of the day for the Lady Lancers, finishing 36 out of 150 runners in a time of 20:19. The Lady Lancers placed 13th overall out of 18 teams, and the men finished 14th out of 19 competitors while Ben Drew led the men’s team with a time of 27:46.
In regard to the men’s golf team, unfortunately, our men’s links team is having an unsuccessful season so far. Their top player so far this season has been Trey Stoll. At the IWU invitational, the Lancers finished 7th out of 10 teams. At Holy Cross, the Lancers slightly improved from IWU finishing 6th out of 12 teams. At Bethel, the Lancers links team finished dead last at 15th out of 15 teams. Hopefully, they can turn their season around.
The men’s soccer team has had a very successful season thus far with an overall record of 6-2- 1 (6 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie) with a record of 1-0-1 within the Crossroads League. As for the women’s soccer team, the Lady Lancers are 8-1-1 (1-0 in CL Play).
Next in review are the men’s and women’s tennis teams. The guys are 6-2 (6-1 in CL play). The Lady Lancers on the other hand have, unfortunately, not been as successful as the guys. Their record stands at 2-6 (2-5 in CL play).
To conclude this mid-season sports report, it’s time to talk about our volleyball team. They are currently on the road while participating in the Indiana Tech Tournament located in Fort Wayne, Ind. this weekend (28th-29th). Their record currently sits at 13-6 (7-2 in CL play). As always, the ladies will be hoping to ride back home while celebrating a victory.
Good luck to every single Grace athletic team, including those that are still in the phase of pre-season training. Go Lancers!
